Have Your Cake and….Wear It, Too!
It’s no lie that I adore handmade goodies. I wouldn’t be in the cupcake making business if I didn’t. But not all handmade goodies have to be edible. One of my most favorite purveyor of handmade goods is Pulp Sushi — a talented jewelry making super gal! I had the pleasure of meeting Marilyn of Pulp Sushi at the 2009 Social Pariah Festival and I feel we made an instant connection. Lucky for me, she moved closer to me, so we’ve had the chance to socialize beyond events in which we sell our goods. I am proud to say I own quite a few pieces of hers, and I always, ALWAYS get compliments when I wear them. I like that I can say I purchased it from someone who made it by hand, that it didn’t come from the 50% off shelf at Target or Kohl’s. Her pieces are unique and beautiful.
Of course, one of my prized possessions from Pulp Sushi is, of course, the Red Velvet Cupcake Ring! Just look at this adorable piece of yummy jewelry!
I wear it whenever I have to do a Minnie Cakes event, because it’s the kind of accessory that just completes the look. You can get your very own at Pulp Sushi’s Etsy Shop. I think you should.
If red velvet isn’t your thing, you can always go ahead and get yourself a Radioactive Cupcake Ring, because really, it’s awesome. I’m tempted to bake a cupcake that looks just like that ring and do it in honor of Pulp Sushi.
Since Marilyn is a fan of Concerto in the Key of Lime, I’m thinking I could add a little more color and do it up for her. In fact, I think I will!
